Over the period, maqasid al-Shariah has been promoted as the key reform for Islamic finance practices. This subject represent the idea of achieving maslahah through the implementation of Shariah rulings. As a result, maqasid al-shariah plays essential roles both in establishing regulations and in developing products in Islamic finance industry. Nevertheless, applying maqasid al-shariah sometimes becomes a matter of dispute in terms of its application. This includes to interpret Shariah rulings and to implement them in actual situations, in which some scholars claim that maqasid al-shariah is misused by certain groups to justify controversial practices. In this regard , this book attempts to clarify the concept of maqasid al-shariah and its application in Islamic finance.
