Blamed for the tragedy in the castle of Ellende, Kail and the rest of the Platinum Rebellion have escaped to the outskirts of the mountain city of Acklentawn.

Six months have passed since they fled the castle on that fateful day. Kail blames himself for the deaths of Claskan’s loved ones and the hundreds who fell. Training has gone well with his mentors, and he's learning the powers he needs to understand in order to fully embrace the dragon within.
